A Unit is a private group with announcements, discussions, events, resources and members.
Units for your staff
- 1In your dashboard, open Units. You need to be an owner or organisation admin.
- 2Create a Unit for a department (one per department), or a custom Unit that draws on your whole staff.
- 3Our team approves it. Until then you can set up its profile and settings; members, invitations, posts and events open once it is approved.
- 4Add staff, or invite up to 100 people at a time. Use Assign admin to hand day-to-day running to a team member.
Units for colleges, communities and associations
Verified members can create a Community or Institutional Unit, including for a college or a nursing association. Choose Public or Private, and our team approves it.
Manage a Unit
- Roles: Owner, Admin, Moderator, Educator, Member and Observer. You can change roles below your own and remove members.
- Visibility: Public (listed and open), Restricted (listed, content for members) or Private (invitation only).
- Requests and invitations: approve people who ask to join, and invite by name or email.
- Announcements: pin up to 5. Resources: approve what members share. Discussions: remove threads if needed.
- Events: free online or in-person events, shown in each member's time zone.
Students, faculty and alumni
Put members into categories: Students (by batch), Faculty (by group) and Alumni, with up to 40 batches or groups per Unit.
To add a whole class, import a CSV of up to 1,000 people with their email and full name (and optionally role, title, country, category and batch). Everyone gets an invitation and joins when they accept; people without an account get a link to set a password.
